Other Q: Were the characters’ romances also decided in advance? Kishi: I didn’t keep it in mind that much because I wanted to go with the flow (of the story). I drew (the story) while contemplating whether Sasuke and Sakura will end up together or what. I didn’t put Sakura in the heroine’s position anyways. Although Naruto is special as the protagonist, the others were equal and not categorized as main or minor. (The romances) were decided on how the characters will act as the story (proceeds). But halfway through I also thought that Naruto and Sakura were probably not that (not right). Somehow I did decide on (them/the romances) at a rather early stage. Source

The article says that she was literally begging Kishi to write about it. To which Kishimoto apparently nodded and answered with ‘Certainly, people are interested in Sasuke’s side… I’ll be thinking about various things’. Then he said very earnestly that he wanted Sakura to be happy, since he’s only been making her experience painful things until now. Source

Ehhh, Sakura’s attempt to
save Naruto resulted from the desire to rescue him from himself. She
never had any other intentions.
Wait, what? She was gripped by an overwhelming anxiety? Sakura couldn’t bear seeing Naruto like this. It hurt her inside of her heart. The hand on her chest stresses this.
Tears indicate that she was truly affected.
“I’ll save Sasuke for you!” = “Stop doing all of this because I cannot handle seeing you like that! I’ll save Sasuke for you as long as you don’t put yourself in danger anymore!”
Hinata, on the other hand, was selfish. She attempted to commit passive suicide to guilt Naruto into returning her feelings.
It was not an act of bravery because Hinata knew she was going to die. Naruto told everyone to not interfere since Pain was only there for him. Yet, Hinata got in the way, although she expected to die. That is insane. Not heroic. It’s just insane.
Naruto was not going to be killed anyway. At worst, he was going to be captured alive; that was Pain’s entire goal. They couldn’t extract the Kyuubi if Naruto died. They would’ve transported him to the same place they took Gaara, and it would’ve taken days to extract Kurama.
Hinata mainly cared about showing off; not about saving Naruto. That was definitely not her goal. So no, it’s not the same.

Hinata has a wedding ring because she needs a proof of their relationship being tied together while Sakura and Sasuke’s connected with hearts and feelings. :P You’re just jealous to come at me :P Hinawankers suck Naruto’s dick. Also, to add something, Naruto doesn’t seemed to be wearing a ring, does this means Hinata bought it for her own satisfaction? :D
If Hinata was placed in team 7 instead of Sakura do you think it would have made the story a lot more interesting? Hinata was just as smart as Sakura during part 1 so I think it was just luck for Sakura to join team 7. She's different from all the other girls who fangirled over Sasuke, and with that she would have been able to help him a lot more with her calm exposure and doesn't let love get in the way of her performance. Sasuke would treat her a whole lot better than Sakura (Part1)
She would also make the team a whole lot stronger because Uzamaki, Hyuga and Uchiha clan are all in a team together. And the Kaguya is her ancestor so she would’ve made it a lot easier to fight her using teamwork. I still like Naruto and Hinata together, but Sasuke loving Hinata and
would be grateful for what she did for him. Sakura should’ve just went for Lee, and the gaiden should be about them reminiscing about the past and cute comical moments instead of drama (Part 2)
No I don’t think Hinata being in Team 7 would have made the story any more interesting.
Firstly, Hinata wasn’t as smart as Sakura was. Sakura had higher intelligence stats than Hinata did, and Sakura always scored 100% on the exams:

Secondly, Sakura wasn’t placed on Team 7 due to luck. It was because of the fact that due to the focus she placed on her studies, she initially struggled in combat situations, more so than Hinata, which is why she was placed in Team 7, so that she’d learn from the more battle-oriented Naruto and Sasuke; and they would in turn benefit from her vast knowledge.
Thirdly, how many times does it need to be pointed out that following the Forest of Death, Sakura never fangirled over Sasuke again? For you to say that Hinata would have been different from all the girls who fangirled over Sasuke is pointless because following chapter 49, Sakura wasn’t one of those girls anymore.
Fourthly, why are you saying Hinata would have been able to help him more with her “calm exposure” and wouldn’t have let love “get in the way of her performance”? Are you actually implying that Sakura’s love for Sasuke was a hindrance? Well then I suppose when Sakura managed to calm Sasuke down when he went on a Curse Seal induced rampage in the Forest of Death, that was just more of her rabid fangirling right?
She doesn’t have a calming influence on Sasuke at all…
Or I suppose when she risked her life to protect Sasuke from Gaara as she stared death in the face, thereby essentially saving his life, that was just Sakura’s blind love “getting in the way of her performance” right? It didn’t by any means signify her development from the Forest of Death where she was instead petrified in fear, no definitely not…
Fifthly, why are you saying that Sasuke would have treated Hinata better? Sasuke treated no one particularly well Anon, Hinata wouldn’t have been any different. I mean what? You think someone who was as fixated on revenge and hatred as much as Sasuke was:
Would have treated Hinata better because REASONS? Hinata wouldn’t have paid anywhere near as much attention to Sasuke as Sakura did, because Hinata’s attention would have always been more towards Naruto. But because Sakura loved Sasuke, she was privy to his darkness long before anyone else was. Which was why despite both Naruto’s and Kakashi’s reassurances to the contrary, Sakura always knew that Sasuke would eventually decide to defect from the village, even right down to the very day and time.
Sixthly, I don’t see why it would make the story more interesting for Team 7 to have been even stronger, because they were already by far the strongest team out of the Konoha 12, but Hinata’s inclusion wouldn’t have made the team stronger anyway, considering that Sakura became the strongest Kunoichi in the world. So yeah, Hinata’s Hyuuga heritage didn’t help much there.
Seventhly, why on earth would Hinata’s involvement have made it any easier to fight Kaguya? What does Kaguya being her ancestor prove with regards to using teamwork more effectively? That doesn’t make any sense.
Lastly, you say Sasuke would love Hinata and “would be grateful for what she did for him”, as if that can’t be applied to Sakura also? I mean, was this not enough gratitude for you?

100. This fandom is truly amazing despite the drama. As my final message, i want to say thank you for everything and for the wonderful memories we shared here.
this is maybe my favorite sasusaku amv: i always come back to this when i think there are no more stories to write about these two. i don’t know much about the technical aspects of video making; but there is such an immense history between sasuke and sakura that this video captures so well. their story overlaps with naruto’s but they exist outside of him. in some ways, they know each other better than anyone else, and i’m always reminded of that with this video.
the first episode of naruto that i watched (hahaha almost a decade ago) was set during the forest of death arc, possibly a little after team 7 met up with kabuto: sasuke was helping naruto identify which of the enemy were real and which were kage bunshin. which–crazy! a helpful rival character! a calm, intelligent rival character! who the girl likes, instead of the main character! and she was supporting him, and he leaned on her; and they were my favorite favorite favorite, because sensible, rational smartie-pants, both of them!
(of course, this all went pretty much up shit creek after the forest of death arc.)
still, i think that remains basically how i characterize sasuke and sakura in fic: he’s kinder and softer-spoken than in canon; she’s brighter and teases him more; and they are both huge nerds at heart.
